The three operators in the Danish North Sea oil and gas fields, Maersk Oil, DONG E&P and Hess Denmark have introduced an energy management system that has reduced gas flaring and fuel consumption on the
platforms. As a result, the CO2 emissions from North Sea oil and gas production have been lowered by 10 percent.
